Kellock excited to return

Kellock has been restored to the Scotland captaincy after missing the autumn Tests following knee surgery, with his first task leading Andy Robinson's side into battle against France in Paris in the Six Nations opener on February 5.

The 29-year-old Glasgow Warriors second row said: "I was sitting doing commentary for the South Africa game and I was just wishing I was on the park. I knew the only way to get back on the park was to work hard and make sure when I got back to playing that I was consistent."

He added: "Six months out was a long time and there were periods in it when you think you're not getting any better.

"It was a tough experience, but if anything it just makes you want it more.

"The medical staff at Glasgow were absolutely brilliant at helping me get back.

"I'm sure I've given them a rough time over the last few months but I'm delighted where I am now.

"My knee's great and feels really good."

Kellock will aim to lead by example as Scotland seek to end a 12-year wait for victory in Paris.

"Being captain at Glasgow in the last five seasons has helped me, it's made me play better," he added. "I've got to make sure that happens here as well, that I'm playing to the best of my ability and leading by example."
