Gallagher Premiership Rugby side Saracens have signed Samoa international Logovi'i Mulipola on a short-term deal.
The 36-year old has put pen to paper on a three-month contract and bolsters a squad ravaged by injuries.
Mulipola has not played competitively since leaving Newcastle Falcons in the summer, but could make his debut as soon as this weekend, when Saracens face Bulls in the Investec Champions Cup in South Africa.
"It’s great to have a player of Logovi’i’s stature joining us," said Saracens head coach George Skivington.
"Logovi’i is a knowledgeable player who can play a key part in the remainder of our season.
"He comes with a wealth of experience, he’s a strong ball carrier and a solid scrummager, so I know he’ll come in and hit the ground running."
The prop-forward has won 31 caps for Samoa during a lengthy career which started at Leicester back in 2011.
He stayed with the Tigers until 2018, when he joined the Falcons, and has wracked up over 100 appearances in the Premiership.
He will be looking to add to that tally over the coming weeks, as Saracens, who currently sit in fourth place in the table, look to close the two-point gap to leaders Sale and Bath, and back up the title they won last year.
It is his versatility that will be so crucial during his time at Kingsholm though, as he has the ability to play at loosehead and tighthead.
That means he can act as injury cover for Marco Riccioni, Eroni Mawi, Ollie Hoskins and Ralph Adams-Hale, who are all currently on the sidelines.
Saracens director of Rugby Mark McCall added: "Logovi’i is a player with great experience and we are looking forward to seeing him in a Saracens shirt.
"He is already settling in with us in Pretoria and we are confident he will be a great addition to the group.”
