Harlequins maintained their unbeaten home record in the Premiership Rugby Cup with a 36-29 win over Saracens at The Stoop.
The result in this all-Premiership tie leaves the two sides in third and fourth respectively in Pool A after a keenly-contested affair in west London.
Louis Lynagh got Quins off the mark with the first try of the afternoon with a brilliant effort from the five-metre line, before Will Edwards added the conversion.
Sarries cut the deficit to 7-3 with a penalty from the restart as Manu Vunipola reduced the arrears, but it was the hosts that extended their advantage.
Cadan Murley reacted to Luke Northmore's long kick up the field and brought it down for another try, before Edwards added the conversion.
Will Collier increased the hosts' advantage following some lovely link-up play involving Alex Dombrandt and Northmore, with Edwards on hand to add another two points.
The deficit was reduced when a penalty was kicked to the corner and Toby Knight was there to apply the finishing touch, but Vunipola could not add the conversion on this occasion.
It looked like the comeback might be on after Alex Lozowski brilliantly reacted to a loose ball and scored a superb individual try, before Vunipola reduced the arrears further to 21-15 with a successful conversion.
But Edwards added a sucker punch to the visitors before half-time with a penalty to give Quins a 24-15 lead going into the interval.
Despite making a promising start after the break, Harlequins struck again in scintillating fashion after some sublime play involving Murley and Lynagh to allow Nick David to finish off the move for an excellent try.
There looked to be no way back for Sarries when Will Joseph added Quins' fifth try of the game after racing down the right flank to finish things off, before Connor Slevin added the extra two points.
The north Londoners responded admirably though, and added some respectability to the scoreline, as Gareth Simpson finished off a wonderful team move before Vunipola's conversion reduced the deficit to 36-22.
It was a nervy end to the match for Quins when Tobias Elliot added another try following some fantastic play involving Rotimi Segun and Lozowski, but Quins held on for a hard-fought victory.
