George Furbank has been picked ahead of Freddie Steward at full-back as one of five changes Steve Borthwick has made for the Calcutta Cup match against Scotland on Saturday at Murrayfield. Elsewhere, Ollie Lawrence and Danny Care start, while Dan Cole and Ellis Genge have been given the nod in the front row as England go for a third straight Six Nations win to keep their Grand Slam hopes alive.

Steve Borthwick has made five changes to his starting XV as England bid to end Scotland’s dominance of the Calcutta Cup and make it three wins from three in this year’s Six Nations.
Northampton’s George Furbank is set to start at full-back in place of Freddie Steward, who has been left out of the matchday squad entirely despite his strong performance in a narrow win over Wales last time out.
Ollie Lawrence is fit again after overcoming a hip injury and has been picked ahead of Fraser Dingwall at inside centre, while Danny Care is in at scrum-half for the injured Alex Mitchell.
In the front row, Borthwick has named Dan Cole and Ellis Genge as his starting props as England bid to end their poor form in this fixture.
Not since 2020 have England lifted the Calcutta Cup, while they will also be keen to keep their Grand Slam hopes alive.
“We're pleased with the start we've made to our Guinness Six Nations campaign but know that a difficult test awaits us in Edinburgh against an in-form Scotland team,” Borthwick said.
“The atmosphere is always special for any Calcutta Cup match and I'm sure this weekend's game at Murrayfield will be no different.
“This group of players are looking forward to the challenge on Saturday and to creating some very special memories.”
Should Scotland win, it will be the first time they have beaten England four times in a row in this championship since the 1890s.
Gregor Townsend’s side survived a late comeback to beat Wales 27-26 in their first game before losing in controversial fashion to France.
Scotland have made three changes to their starting XV. Former captain Jamie Ritchie has been recalled at blindside flanker, Kyle Steyn starts on the wing, and Blair Kinghorn replaces Harry Paterson at full-back on his return from injury.

England team to play Scotland

Replacements: Theo Dan, Joe Marler, Will Stuart, George Martin, Chandler Cunningham-South, Ben Spencer, Fin Smith, Immanuel Feyi-Waboso.
