Australia have added some muscle to its back row for Saturday's Tri-Nations opener against New Zealand in Auckland, recalling Wycliff Palu at number eight and shifting Richard Brown to blindside flanker.

The 26-year-old NSW Waratahs flanker Palu (pictured) missed Australia's first four matches of the international season with a hand injury sustained during the Super 14 season, but has proved his fitness at club level.
Palu replaces Western Force loose forward Brown, who performed admirably at number eight in Australia's internationals against the Barbarians, Italy and France, in a 22-man team list named.
Brown's shift to number six came at the expense of second-string back-rower Dean Mumm, demoted to a forward-heavy reserves bench that allows for the inclusion of two openside flankers in David Pocock and Wallabies veteran Phil Waugh.
The starting line-up is otherwise unchanged from the team that clinically dismantled a fatigued France side 22-6 in Sydney last month, but Queensland Reds' halfback Will Genia makes his Test debut on the bench.
Australia have had a perfect start to their international season, registering comfortable wins in all four Tests, but face an All Blacks side buoyed by the return of talismanic captain Richie McCaw and other key players from injury.
Despite being able to name a full-strength side, history will be against the Wallabies at Eden Park, where victory has eluded them for more than 20 years.
"We have made good progress and the relative consistency of our selection reflects that, but no one is getting ahead of themselves," Australia coach Robbie Deans said.
"Playing New Zealand at Eden Park is going to be a major step up on what we have faced so far."
The match, also the first leg of the Bledisloe Cup for the trans-Tasman rivals, will highlight Australian flanker George Smith's 100 Test.
"Hopefully we can do the occasion justice," Deans said.
Australia team:
15-Adam Ashley-Cooper, 14-Lachie Turner, 13-Stirling Mortlock (captain), 12-Berrick Barnes, 11-Drew Mitchell, 10-Matt Giteau, 9-Luke Burgess, 8-Richard Brown, 7-George Smith, 6-Dean Mumm, 5-Nathan Sharpe, 4-James Horwill, 3-Al Baxter, 2-Stephen Moore, 1-Benn Robinson.
Replacements: 16-Tatafu Polota-Nau, 17-Ben Alexander, 18-Phil Waugh, 19-David Pocock, 20-Josh Valentine, 21-Ryan Cross, 22-James O'Connor.
