South Africa remain firmly on course to top Pool D at the World Cup after a record 87-0 victory over minnows Namibia at North Harbour Stadium in Albany.

The Springboks secured the bonus point with four first-half tries and added eight more after the break to record a third successive win and usurp their previous highest World Cup victory, a 72-6 rout of Uruguay in 2003.
Gio Aplon, Francois Hougaard and replacement Juan de Jongh all bagged a brace with Bryan Habana, Jaque Fourie, Frans Steyn, Morne Steyn and Danie Rossouw also on the scoresheet in addition to a 29th minute penalty try.
Springboks will top Pool D and set up a likely quarter-final against Australia with a victory over Samoa in their final game on September 30.
The defending champions opened the scoring when Aplon marked his World Cup debut with a sixth minute try, the winger crossing untouched after beautiful play from Hougaard in the tightest of spaces.
Habana then ended his 15-month try drought and became South Africa's all-time leading try scorer after 21 minutes, as Rossouw's pass beat the Namibia defence allowing the winger to score his 39th try, breaking the tie with former scrum-half Joost van der Westhuizen.
The Springboks were guilty of too many handling errors in the first half but their forward line dominated and they earned a penalty try when the Namibia scrum collapsed once too often. It was 31-0 at the break after Fourie crossed under the posts.
The opening half of the second period saw just one further try as Frans Steyn jogged over the line after Namibia were undone by a quick penalty from Hougaard before South Africa ran riot with seven tries in the final quarter.
Morne Steyn scored in the corner, to add to his five conversions and one penalty, before a rash of changes prompted a scoring glut with de Jongh scoring with his first touch of the ball after a bustling run from Pierre Spies through two tackles.
A wonderful pass from John Smit off the left hand saw Aplon score his second, then Hougaard dived over before de Jongh completed a quickfire brace.
South Africa scored 15 tries in their 105-13 victory over Namibia in their only previous meeting in 2007 and although they could not match that tally there was still time for Rossouw to collect Smit's offload and score before Hougaard's individual effort capped the evening.
The only concern for South Africa was when Bakkies Botha limped off but they can look to sterner tests ahead while Namibia resign themselves to a 14th successive World Cup defeat.
