Who has qualified for the Rugby World Cup semi-finals?

New Zealand put up a superb display to break the hearts of Ireland and claim a 28-24 win.
The All Blacks will face Argentina in the semi-finals following their 29-17 win over Wales.
England held off a fightback from Fiji and will face defending champions South Africa in the last four after they knocked out hosts France.

Who qualified for the Rugby World Cup quarter-finals?

Ireland, South Africa, Wales, England, France, New Zealand, Argentina and Fiji clinched the eight qualifying berths.
Steve Borthwick's England finished top of Pool D, while Warren Gatland’s men progressed in style from Pool C by thrashing Australia 40-6 in a high-stakes clash in Lyon.
Fiji snatched second in Pool C behind Wales, who secured top spot with a 43-19 win over Georgia in their final group match.
Meanwhile, England racked up four straight wins and sealed passage as group winners with a match to spare courtesy of results elsewhere.
In Pool B, Ireland and South Africa proved too strong for Scotland and advanced in first and second respectively.
And Argentina beat Japan in a Pool D decider to secure their progress.

Who qualified from Pool A?

France and New Zealand have claimed the two qualifying berths from Pool A.
The hosts finished top with 18 points after four games, the All Blacks behind them on 15 points.
Italy's heavy defeat to France means they were forced to settle for third, but have booked their place at the 2027 World Cup as a consolation prize.
Namibia finished bottom after failing to register a point.

Who qualified from Pool B?

The so-called ‘Pool of Death’ saw Ireland and South Africa qualify while Scotland fell short.
South Africa were overtaken by Ireland when Andy Farrell's side beat the Scots on Saturday in Paris.
South Africa finished their Pool campaign with a 49-18 win over Tonga in their final game on October 1.

Who qualified from Pool C?

Wales took top spot in Pool C with a perfect four wins from four matches while the battle for second came down to the wire.
In the end, Fiji snuck through to consign Australia to a first ever pool-stage World Cup exit.
The Fijians needed just one point from their final match against Portugal to reach the last eight for the first time since 2007 and got it despite losing 24-23.

Who qualified from Pool D?

Thanks to Japan's win over Samoa, England qualified for the quarter-finals of the World Cup with a match to spare and kept up their 100% record by beating Samoa in their final pool match.
The battle for second came down to a decider in Nantes, won by Argentina over Japan, as the Pumas advanced.
