Our new and exclusive behind-the-scenes documentary, A Voyage of Discovery: The Ocean Race, showcases the world’s top sailors taking on the toughest challenge in team sport.

A Voyage of Discovery: The Ocean Race - Coming Soon!

From spending 38 consecutive days traversing the world’s more remote offshore location, to broken masts and being stranded at sea, the lives of the world’s greatest sailors and most daring athletes are uncovered like never before.
But The Ocean Race isn't just a race across the ocean, it’s a race for the ocean.
Sailors have experienced more of the marine world than most people on Earth. They have a deep connection with the ocean and have witnessed first hand the impact of human activity on ocean health. This unique perspective, combined with a growing awareness of how vital the seas are to all life on Earth, drives The Ocean Race to harness the power of sport to inspire action to protect and restore our blue planet.
The Race’s award-winning learning programmes have helped 225,000 children across the globe to gain a better understanding of why the ocean is important and how they can protect it, while a series of summits have been shining a spotlight on the need for the ocean’s rights to be recognised, culminating in a special event held during the UN General Assembly.
During The Ocean Race 2022-23, teams collected more than 4 million pieces of data about the health of the seas. This information, gathered across the 32,000 mile route including from parts of the planet that are largely inaccessible to research vessels, is already feeding into crucial research about the ocean and climate.
All hands on deck are needed to win the greatest race to date: the race for the ocean. Find out how you can help here.
