Ski Jumping legend and Eurosport expert Sven Hannawald nominated for Laureus award

The nomination comes for what happened during the 2018 Four Hills tournament.

During the tournament current world champion Kamil Stoch became just the second man after Hannawald to win all four events and complete the Four Hills Grand Slam.

Hannawald was working for Eurosport Germany at the time and he was on the ground to run out and celebrate with Stoch, as the only two men in history achieve the feat.

Hannawald said “The nomination is a great honour for me. Even as an active athlete, fairness and respect for other athletes were always very important to me.

“It was special for me to be close to the action as an Eurosport expert and to congratulate Kamil immediately and to welcome him to the most exclusive club in the world. It is a greater joy when you can share your own success with others.”
