Big names cruise

All four big names moved comfortably through to the semi-finals of the World Series of Snooker, event three in Warsaw.

Ken Doherty, Mark Selby, Ding Junhui and Steve Davis all recorded 4-0 whitewashes against Poland's best-known players.

Doherty made breaks of 90 and 89 on the way to beating Rafal Gorecki, a former junior champion, while Mark Selby was less fluent until a final-frame break of 100 sealed his victory.

Steve Davis hit two half-centuries in beating Rafal Jewtuch, while Ding Junhui beat Piotr Murat, now the Chairman of the Polish Association.

Doherty will face Selby in the first semi-final on Sunday, with Ding meeting Davis before the best-of-11 final later in the day.
