Highfield, ranked 106 in the world, had met the world number one twice before, and their head-to-head record stood at 1-1 coming into the second round match.

Selby, 33, struggled for fluency throughout but did post breaks of 89 and 99.
The 99 drew the two-time world champion level at 3-3 but Highfield retained his composure to see out the biggest win of his career in the deciding frame.
"You've got to start somewhere - to beat the world champion is a good result," said Highfield afterwards.
Ronnie O’Sullivan made it through 4-3 against Zhao Xintong, who scored two centuries and took a 3-2 lead, but could only make 28 in the sixth frame.
A break of 62 put O’Sullivan in charge of the decider, and he secured the win and a third-round match with Chris Wakelin

Ryan Day prevailed 4-3 in a dramatic and tense encounter with Stephen Maguire.
Day took the first frame courtesy of a 61 but Maguire, 35, looked in fine fettle as he clinically wrapped up frames two and three with runs of 82 and 126.
Maguire should have opened up a two-frame advantage but faltered and Day pounced to level matters in frame four.
A 110 gave Maguire the advantage but Day claimed the remaining two frames to progress to the next round.
This is the first of the four Home Nations tournaments - if one player wins all four, he would receive a bonus of £1m.
