Judd Trump's 22-match winning streak came to an end when he was beaten 6-3 by Stephen Maguire in the third round of the International Championship in Tianjin, China.
Trump, who was the defending champion having won when the tournament was last held in 2019, was looking to join Stephen Hendry as the only other player to win four consecutive ranking events after lifting the trophies at the Northern Ireland Open, English Open and Wuhan Open.
Of the other stars in the main draw, which included Ronnie O’Sullivan, Luca Brecel, Mark Selby and Neil Robertson, it was The Rocket who made the biggest impression, beating Ali Carter in the quarter-finals to set up a last-four meeting with Zhang Anda.
But the snooker GOAT failed to come through that test as the final pits Tom Ford v Anda on Sunday, November 12.
