'I love the rowdiness' - Trump praises Alexandra Palace crowd after beating Allen

Judd Trump made a blistering start to the new year on Thursday by winning his first two matches of 2023 in only 59 minutes at the Championship League in Leicester.
The 2019 world champion warmed up for his Masters opener at London's Alexandra Palace against British Open winner Ryan Day on January 11 by producing runs of 52, 108 and 71 in a 3-0 victory against Ricky Walden, who was restricted to only 12 points in three frames.
Trump's hot run of scoring form continued against Mark Selby in his second Group Four fixture.
After opening with a knock of 80, Selby responded with 62 only for the world No. 4 to run in a frame-winning counter of 66.
Another contribution of 67 saw Trump move top of the section with maximum points from two matches.
Elsewhere, Scottish Open winner Gary Wilson rolled in three centuries of 131, 124 and 134 in a 3-2 win over Walden, who forced the decider with a run of 104.
Wilson's last century brought his career haul to 200 before next meeting Trump in the seven-match invitational group that also contains John Higgins, Robert Milkins and Matthew Selt, who lost the Group Three final 3-2 to Kyren Wilson on Wednesday.
But Trump extended his impressive winning streak with a 3-1 win over the Wallsend man.
After losing the first frame, he produced a brilliant clearance from the final two reds to move 2-1 clear before a closing 77 preserved his 100 percent record with three straight victories.
A 3-1 defeat to Matthew Selt in his final match of the day saw John Higgins join Trump at the top of the standings on three points after he produced breaks of 126 and 72 in a 3-1 win against Selby.
Higgins has played a game less than Trump before they meet in their closing Group Four match on Friday afternoon.
The top four from the section qualify for the semi-finals with the final in the evening.
