England’s Reanne Evans was in sublime form at the Women’s World Championship, reaching the quarter-finals of the prestigious snooker tournament with a 4-0 whitewash over top seed and title-holder Baipat Siripaporn. The record 12-time winner was rarely troubled by the reigning champion, but another Thai, Mink Nutcharut, has made it through to the last eight.
Record winner Reanne Evans ended Baipat Siripaporn’s Women’s World Championship title defence in emphatic fashion, thrashing the title holder 4-0 to reach the quarter-finals.
In a match between two of the biggest names in women's snooker, England’s 12-time champion eased through the best-of-seven frames contest in Dongguan, China, as the 24-year-old Thai struggled to make an impact in the match.
Evans' highest break came in the third frame with a 73 as she made light work of Siripaporn. She is aiming to win the tournament for the first time since 2019.
Since then, the event has been dominated by the Thai pair of Siripaporn and Mink Mutcharut, who is also through to the quarters.
She was also in dominant form, thumping England's Rebecca Kenna 4-0, meaning she has now won all 16 frames she has played so far at the tournament.
Evans will have an all-English tie with either Mary Talbot or Tessa Davidson, while Nutcharut will play the winner of the match between Han Fang and Miina Tani.
