John Higgins bounced back from his loss to Mark King at the UK Championship to beat Jack Lisowski 4-1 in the first round of the Scottish Open.
A fluked brown had given the world No.38 the opening frame, but the Scotsman won the next four frames to secure his place in the next round, where he will face Christopher Keogan.
Marco Fu, who beat Higgins in last year's final, beat Duane Jones 4-0, and Judd Trump also recorded a whitewash win, over Robin Hull.
Ronnie O'Sullivan, who won the UK Championship on Sunday, begins his campaign on Tuesday against Michael Georgiou.
