Ronnie O’Sullivan did not hold back in his criticism of Ali Carter after his Masters final opponent accused him of “snotting all over the floor” during the match. O’Sullivan produced a comeback from 6-3 down to win an eighth title at Alexandra Palace 10-7. But Carter accused the seven-time world champion of acting in a “disgusting” way, which drew an X-rated response.

‘I don’t know how I’ve won this tournament’ - O’Sullivan delighted to win Masters for eighth time

Ronnie O’Sullivan accused Ali Carter of "digging a grave for himself" and says he "needs to sort his f****** life out" after the man he beat in the Masters final accused him of "snotting all over the floor".
The comments were made after the seven-time world champion’s 10-7 win at Alexandra Palace on Sunday, having come from 6-3 down.
Carter voiced his frustrations after the match, describing some of the crowd as “morons” for calling out during some of his shots, but he was not happy with the conduct of his opponent either.
"There were a couple of things that happened out there that go unnoticed," Carter said.
"Well, they don't go unnoticed but anyone with an eyesight or a brain can see what's going on. And it's disgusting quite frankly.
"No one wants to say anything, do they? Snotting all over the floor and all that."

‘He’s beginning to annoy me’ - Carter reflects on Masters final defeat to O’Sullivan

Carter’s remarks were put to O’Sullivan in his post-match press conference, and his response ultimately ended proceedings as he walked out once he had his opinion.
"He can sit on it as far as I'm concerned," he said.
"I don't give a f***. You know what he's like, everybody knows what he's like. He's got issues. F****** why has he got issues with me? I'm not having it. I don't care, grow some balls.
"I don't give a f***. The more he brings it on, the more I f****** punish him every time. He's just digging a grave for himself. He needs to sort his f****** life out.

‘Quite extraordinary’ - O’Sullivan wraps up eighth Masters title with win over Carter in final

"That's it, I've said my piece. I'm not going to skirt around it anymore, tip-toeing on egg shells around someone like that. Playing snooker against someone like that is a nightmare. He's not a nice person.
"It's not a nice vibe he leaves around the table. I've said my piece and you're going to write what you're going to write. I don't give a s***. I've said it now, done.
"End of press conference? I suppose you've got your headlines, haven't you?"
O’Sullivan then left the room. There is a possibility the two players could meet again in this weekend’s final of the World Grand Prix, as they are in opposite halves of the draw.
