There will be no Ronnie O'Sullivan for the fifth edition of the Tour Championship, with the world champion not having enough ranking points over the course of the season. Defending champion Neil Robertson misses out for the same reason, as does Judd Trump. There are still plenty of big names involved, including Mark Allen, Mark Selby and Shaun Murphy.

‘A horrendous thing to happen!’ - Trump inexplicably pots the cue ball

We are nearly at the end of the season and, as such, it is time for the penultimate ranking event of the year, the 2023 Tour Championship.
Neil Robertson is the defending champion but, he is not participating as a number of big names miss out on the tournament.
The eight players for the Tour Championship are picked based on the one-year ranking list and a host of big names have missed the cut due to the up and down nature of the season.
