McCulloch dumped in York

World Championship semi-finalist Ian McCulloch has been dumped out of the UK Championships in the first round on Monday. The world number 16 lost 9-7 to Scotland's Jamie Burnett, who will now challenge England's Paul Hunter in the next round.

Elsewhere, world number 18 Barry Pinches lost 9-3 to Welshman Dominic Dale, while Ali Carter, Marco Fu and Gerard Greene also advanced - the latter benefiting from Quinten Hann's failure to turn up.
