Thai veteran James Wattana powered through the first round of Australian Goldfields Open qualifying in Sheffield.

The former world top 16 player beat Daniel Wells 5-2 thanks to breaks of 59, 61, 76 and 95.
Another Chinese player, Li Yan, produced the day's only whitewash as he hammer Kacper Filipiak 5-0 despite his failure to make a break higher than 44 in a match characterised by a succession of scrappy exchanges.
Ben Woollaston made it through to the next round with a 5-2 victory over Adam Duffy in which he racked up a break of 110.
Finnish player Robin Hull was in fine form as he made it through the first round of Australian Goldfields Open qualifying in Sheffield.
Hull racked up highest break of 136 in addition to a 91 as he thrashed Dechawat Poomjaeng 5-1.
Aditya Mehta also scored a century in Sheffield, but that was his lone bright spot as he lost 5-1 to China's Tian Pengfei.
Tian scrapped his way to the first two frames before Mehta got himself into the match with a 118, but the Chinese player then stole the next on the black after overturning a 48-point deficit, took the next with an 84, then clinched the match on the black in frame six after Mehta fought back from 71 points behind.
Sam Craigie enjoyed a straightforward 5-1 win over David Grace, while Kurt Maflin eased past Cao Yupeng, also turning out a 5-1 winner.
