Andrew Higginson was in dreamland after making a maximum break and reaching the semi-finals of the Welsh Open. The 29-year-old scored only the 33rd maximum in ranking-event history, beating his previous highest break of 138 in a PIOS event in 2005.

"When I got to 56 the balls seemed to be a little awkward," he told World Snooker. "Finally I got them where I wanted, then I couldn"t keep position.
"I had to pot a few good balls from difficult angles. I can't tell you how happy I am with that, just playing on TV is brilliant but to get a maximum is unbelievable.
"I had to leave the arena and compose myself after the 147 because I was shaking like a leaf," he added.
"For the next two frames that is all I was thinking about, I was just numb and going through the motions. But that helped me because I was potting balls without thinking about it."
Higginson's victory set up a last-four match with Shaun Murphy or Stephen Maguire in his first-ever ranking tournament semi-final.
"I've come from the first qualifying round and just to play these players is fantastic, but to be in the semi-finals is beyond my wildest dreams.
"I always knew I was capable of playing well but to do it on a stage like this is fantastic."
