World number 30 Jack Lisowski produced one of the best performances of his career to complete a 10-7 win over Stuart Bingham at the World Championship.
Lisowski made breaks of 105, 54, 128, 60, 58 and 98 to book a meeting with John Higgins or Thepchaiya Un-Nooh in the last 16.
Resuming 5-4 clear from the morning session, Cheltenham's Lisowski did enough to keep the 2015 world champion at bay despite contributions of 123, 51, 60, 88, 56, 57, 55 and 56 showing the 'Ball-run's' game was hardly in bad shape.
Lisowski, 26, led 9-7, but Bingham's 56 break could not force the match to an 18th frame as Lisowski cleared to the pink to secure his progress.
In Tuesday's night other first-round match, 2010 world champion Neil Robertson has work to do on Wednesday afternoon after world number 37 Robert Milkins enjoyed runs of 54, 72, 73 and 91 for a 6-3 lead over the world number 10-ranked Australian, whose highest break of 52 summed up his struggles to find any real consistency.
