Ronnie O’Sullivan has suggested Mark Allen and Mark Selby should maybe “get their own comedy show” after a series of funny incidents in the second session of their World Championship semi-final on Friday. Selby won the 10th frame from a snooker down and went on to take the next three frames to lead 7-6, with play resuming on Saturday at 10:00 UK time.

‘Maybe they should get their own comedy show’ – O’Sullivan on bizarre end to Allen-Selby session

Ronnie O’Sullivan says Mark Allen and Mark Selby should perhaps consider getting “their own comedy show” after their light-hearted second session at the World Championship.
The pair have shared several laughs with each other during the match, including at the end when Selby jokingly looked back at Allen as he potted the final pink to conclude Friday afternoon’s action.
Selby leads Allen 7-6, having won four consecutive frames, including a frame where he required a snooker, before mounting a fightback.
“The crowd seemed to enjoy it,” O’Sullivan said in the Eurosport studio. “There will be some people at home that like watching snooker like this.
“Some people like watching the attacking game, some like the defensive - working it all out, looking at every shot.
“Maybe they should get their own comedy show together, they would be quite a good double act with the referee involved! They are good mates, good fun.”

Jimmy White pointed out he didn’t like seeing Allen talking to Selby at the end of the mid-session interval, especially when the Northern Irishman squandered the chance to take a four-frame lead.
O’Sullivan seemed to apply that snooker needs a mix of styles so all types of fans can enjoy the game.
“Not everyone wants to see Luca Brecel or Si Jiahui play how they do,” explained the seven-time world champion.
“There are people out there who enjoy watching that, it’s like test match cricket. People like to sit there and see that ‘patience, patience, patience’.
“Other people like Twenty20. If you like Twenty20 you might watch tonight’s game and think it’s a bit boring and want to watch Selby and Allen.
“There is some skill involved in that. You’ve got to be able to suck it up and take it.”
