The sport's biggest names are set to jostle for the coveted World Snooker Championship title, and there are multiple sub-plots at play. Can Ronnie O'Sullivan win a record eighth title? The Crucible is here, and all eyes will be on Ronnie O'Sullivan as the snooker legend tries to win a record eighth World Championship title in Sheffield.
But he faces some stiff competition from the likes of the in-form Shaun Murphy - who won the recent Tour Championship - Mark Allen, Judd Trump and Mark Selby.
The draw threw up some fascinating first-round ties, with O'Sullivan set to kick off his 2023 campaign against promising Chinese youngster Pang Junxu.

The 2023 World Championship runs from April 15 to May 1. All matches will be held at the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield.

  • First-round matches are best-of-19 frames
  • Second-round and quarter-final matches are best-of-25 frames
  • Semi-final matches are best-of-33 frames
  • The final is best-of-35 frames
  • Between 15-26 April, matches will be played on two tables
