There was a humorous moment during the second-round match between Tom Ford and Judd Trump at the World Snooker Championship at the Crucible.
Ford trailed the 2019 world champion 6-2 coming into their afternoon session, but as he set about trying to reduce the arrears in the first frame, he had forgotten a crucial piece of equipment: his chalk.
He then had to turn to an official to retrieve some and settle into his shot.
“It helps if you bring chalk with you,” said Joe Johnson on commentary.
Having collected himself, Ford said: “Does help, doesn’t it?” as he settled down to play a safety.
Phil Studd, alongside Johnson on commentary, added: “He brought his little handwarmers with him but he has forgotten his chalk.
"I am assuming they’re designed to keep your hands warm, those little pouches he has got. Or maybe they are to keep them cold, I am not sure.”
Trump continued his march towards the quarter-finals by once again dominating the encounter, and he leads 11-5 going into Saturday morning's conclusion.
