The World Mixed Doubles is back as snooker's top men and women link up in teams to compete against each other in Manchester in one of the sport's more unique events. The two-day event will run from March 30-31 as Neil Robertson and Mink Nutcharut look to defend the title they won in last season. Stream the snooker season live on Eurosport and discovery+.

‘Superb break’ - Robertson makes ninth century of tournament in World Open semi-final against Ding

That was a long day...

We will pick things up again tomorrow, with all teams capable of winning. Brecel/Evans have five points, Robertson/Mink and Selby/Kenna four and Trump/Baipat three. All teams can reach the Sunday evening final. Thanks for following the action with us.

Robertson/Mink 2-2 Selby/Kenna

So both teams leave the day with four points after drawing both of their games today.

Robertson/Mink 2-1 (34-63) Selby/Kenna

Kenna pots green, brown and blue to win the frame.

Robertson/Mink 2-1 (34-63) Selby/Kenna

Robertson pots the yellow but has now given Kenna a chance to pot the green and surely win the frame.

Robertson/Mink 2-1 (32-63) Selby/Kenna

Robertson pots the last red and black, leaving the last snooker to get on the colours.

Robertson/Mink 2-1 (24-63) Selby/Kenna

Selby misses Mink's snooker and now just one snooker is needed.

Robertson/Mink 2-1 (20-63) Selby/Kenna

Robertson and Mink have one snooker. They need two more...

Robertson/Mink 2-1 (16-63) Selby/Kenna

Robertson pots a red but misses the black off the spot and now his pair need three snookers.

Robertson/Mink 2-1 (15-63) Selby/Kenna

Selby pots red and black but misses the penultimate red with a double which would have put the frame beyond doubt.

Robertson/Mink 2-1 (15-55) Selby/Kenna

Mink goes in-off and that could be curtains.

Robertson/Mink 2-1 (15-51) Selby/Kenna

Robertson pots a red and though he misses the black at least he leaves it in open play so he or mink can pretty easily pot it if any of the other three reds become pottable.

Robertson/Mink 2-1 (14-46) Selby/Kenna

Mink's miss leaves the table open for Selby to win the frame now, but incredibly he wins a straight-forward red.

Robertson/Mink 2-1 (14-46) Selby/Kenna

Kenna misses a red with the rest but doesn't leave anything on.

Robertson/Mink 2-1 (14-42) Selby/Kenna

Kenna pots a long red and could go on to win the frame.

Robertson/Mink 2-1 (14-39) Selby/Kenna

Mink ends a mini-break with a good safety.

Robertson/Mink 2-1 (0-39) Selby/Kenna

A fine break ends with an ambitious red to middle which leaves Mink a chance to immediately cut the deficit.

Robertson/Mink 2-1 (0-15*) Selby/Kenna

Kenna pots a black with an awkward rest shot, leaving herself a tricky long red - which she nails!

Robertson/Mink 2-1 (0-0) Selby/Kenna

Robertson leaves reds in both jaws! He was close to potting a cut into the bottom right pocket and then nearly fluked a ball in the bottom left.

Robertson/Mink 2-1 Selby/Kenna

Finally we have a half-century in the penultimate frame of the day!

Robertson/Mink 1-1 (77-13) Selby/Kenna

Robertson puts the champions ahead with a frame to go.

Robertson/Mink 1-1 (60-13) Selby/Kenna

We looked certain to get a half-century but Robertson's break ends on 44.

Robertson/Mink 1-1 (17*-13) Selby/Kenna

Selby goes in-off trying to swerve to hit the ball by the green pocket, then Robertson pots a long red and opened up the pink. Things could step up a gear now.

Robertson/Mink 1-1 (12-13) Selby/Kenna

We could be set for another long one. The reds are all att he bottom of the table except one. The black is on baulk and the pink only (maybe) pottable into right middle.

Robertson/Mink 1-1 (0-13) Selby/Kenna

Selby breaks up the reds after pottibg the blue but is pretty unlucky needing a plant to pot the next red. While he gets this he ends up frustratingly hampered by the green. A fine attempt at a yellow from the minutest of angles left the ball in the jaws. Roberrtson now with a chance.

Robertson/Mink 1-1 Selby/Kenna

The 2010 world champion pots brown to pink to finally end the frame.

Robertson/Mink 0-1 (60-46) Selby/Kenna

Robertson over screws the cue ball when potting the yellow and getting back up to baulk. We are back to a safety battle.

Robertson/Mink 0-1 (54-46) Selby/Kenna

Robertson gets the third fluked red of the frame and he has a chance now to clear the colours.

Robertson/Mink 0-1 (53-46) Selby/Kenna

Robertson pots a long red but cannot get position and the last red is made safe with the brown covering it now.

Robertson/Mink 0-1 (52-46) Selby/Kenna

Ditto. Twice. Robertson looks upset over the situation. Eventually he comes off too cushions and lands on the reds. Why didn't he do that first time?

Robertson/Mink 0-1 (52-38) Selby/Kenna

The Aussie makes the same error again. And we have another wait to check the balls are being placed correctly.

Robertson/Mink 0-1 (52-34) Selby/Kenna

Robertson tries to roll between brown and black to hit the reds on the cushion and will now have to hit the shot again. Robertson looks like he wants to go to sleep. We know the feeling Neil...

Robertson/Mink 0-1 (52-30) Selby/Kenna

Kenna flukes a red to break the stalemate but two reds still lie on the top cushion.

Robertson/Mink 0-1 (52-29) Selby/Kenna

Two safe reds on the baulk cushion could prolong this frame. Robertson missed trying to flick a red on the first attempt bringing the scores a little closer.

Robertson/Mink 0-1 (47*-24) Selby/Kenna

A fine cut into the left middle from Mink and she has a chance to put the frame beyond reach.

Robertson/Mink 0-1 (46-24) Selby/Kenna

Ah, the Aussie misses a red into the bottom left pocket and we still wait to surpass that milestone.

Robertson/Mink 0-1 (40*-24) Selby/Kenna

Robertson could be set to break the half-century mark, the first time this has happened today.

Robertson/Mink 0-1 (0-24) Selby/Kenna

No one has got in their top rhythm today. Selby pots three reds and blacks and then misses a straight red which he would usually never miss.

Robertson/Mink 0-1 Selby/Kenna

Mink left the black over the pocket and Selby made no mistake to put a point on the board for his side.

Robertson/Mink 0-0 (56-52) Selby/Kenna

Her positional shot was good but was hampered a little by the cushion and wasn't close to potting the black into the middle.

Robertson/Mink 0-0 (56-41) Selby/Kenna

Kenna pots the baulk colours but is pondering how she will get on the black after notching blue and pink which are on their spots.

Robertson/Mink 0-0 (56-32) Selby/Kenna

Selby ensures his duo stays in the frame with now just the colours left on the table.

Robertson/Mink 0-0 (56-24) Selby/Kenna

The Aussie is back at the table, but once more in these matches we see a player get themselves into a snooker mid-break.

Robertson/Mink 0-0 (44-24) Selby/Kenna

Selby fails to make a telling cannon screwing back off the black and it is the end of break.

Robertson/Mink 0-0 (44-12*) Selby/Kenna

Selby is left an easy red and now looks capable of at least getting his duo in front in the frame.

Robertson/Mink 0-0 (44-0) Selby/Kenna

Break ends for Robertson as he misses a rocketed yellow and he is fortunate not to leave an easy red on.

Robertson/Mink 0-0 (9*-0) Selby/Kenna

Robertson again at the table and this time he looks capable of making it a frame-winning visit.

Robertson/Mink 0-0 (1-0) Selby/Kenna

Robertson pots the first ball of the match on a shot to nothing, but then misses a brown to middle...

Robertson/Mink and Selby/Kenna are up next

Both drew their first matches of the tournament.

So finally we have a winner in the round robin...

And now Brecel and Evans look very good odds to make tomorrow evening's final.

Brecel/Evans 3-1 Trump/Baipat

Brecel pots the green and brown to finally end this match.

Brecel/Evans 2-1 (61-34) Trump/Baipat

Trump pots the yellow and then leaves a snooker on the green.

Brecel/Evans 2-1 (61-32) Trump/Baipat

Evans misses another snooker set by Trump and only one more is required now.

Brecel/Evans 2-1 (61-28) Trump/Baipat

Evans flukes a snooker but Baipat gets out of it brilliantly. The game goes on...

Brecel/Evans 2-1 (61-28) Trump/Baipat

That is one snooker back for Trump and Baipat as Evans hits the blue.

Brecel/Evans 2-1 (61-23) Trump/Baipat

Trump attempting to get out of a snooker hits green before yellow and those four points will surely end the match.

Brecel/Evans 2-1 (57-23) Trump/Baipat

Baipat misses the black and that looks like the end.

Brecel/Evans 2-1 (57-23) Trump/Baipat

Evans misses the last red which would have won the match but leaves it in a difficult spot for Baipat to get position on the black or pink which she needs.

Brecel/Evans 2-1 (57-23) Trump/Baipat

What an escape! She gets the white up to baulk and even leaves a snooker.

Brecel/Evans 2-1 (57-23) Trump/Baipat

She's struggled to find form but a fantastic snooker from Evans may have won her side the game. A very difficult ask for Baipat to hit the red and not leave it on.

Brecel/Evans 2-1 (57-23) Trump/Baipat

Evans foul brings the opposition back into the game.

Brecel/Evans 2-1 (57-19) Trump/Baipat

Brecel takes his duo to the brink of victory leaving Trump snookered - and the Ace in the Pack misses the red so now his pair needs a snooker.

Brecel/Evans 2-1 (29*-19) Trump/Baipat

Brecel now with a fine chance to gain the first win of the semi-final stages.

Brecel/Evans 2-1 (11-19) Trump/Baipat

Evans pots a red, but with no colour on we will continue with this stalemate.

Brecel/Evans 2-1 (9-19) Trump/Baipat

Trump's richochet off the black curtails his promising break as well.

Brecel/Evans 2-1 (9-0) Trump/Baipat

Brecel again looks set for a break and then misses a blue into the middle.

Brecel/Evans 2-1 Trump/Baipat

Evans pots the last red and then leaves a snooker and their opponents stay in their seat.

Brecel/Evans 1-1 (52-23) Trump/Baipat

Brecel lays a snooker for Baipat and she leaves a chance for Evans to win the frame.

Brecel/Evans 1-1 (47-17) Trump/Baipat

Back on the table, Brecel has given his side a big lead but the break ends on 41 and he leaves an easy pot for Baipat.

Brecel/Evans 1-1 (6-17) Trump/Baipat

The one part of Brecel's game which is working well is his pots to the middle (which for me is the best since Hendry) and here he nails a brown into the left middle. But he is fractionally too straight on a red and cannot prolong the break.

Brecel/Evans 1-1 (0-17) Trump/Baipat

Trump now back on the table, but he has snookered himself on the red after potting a black and has to play safe.

Brecel/Evans 1-1 (0-0) Trump/Baipat

Kenna disgusted with herself after missing a red but was fortunate not to leave a red on for Trump.

Brecel/Evans 1-1 Trump/Baipat

A tremendous rocketed red into the middle from Baipat seals the frame.

Brecel/Evans 1-0 (27-66) Trump/Baipat

Trump finally gets his hand on the table and has left the opponents leaving snookers.

Brecel/Evans 1-0 (27-43) Trump/Baipat

Brecel with another chance after Bairat leaves a red over the pocket following a mini-break, but the Belgian then misses a black off the spot.

Brecel/Evans 1-0 (26-32) Trump/Baipat

He is still far from his best the singles world champion. He misses an easy red into the green pocket, but then Trump does the same with a red into the yellow bag.

Brecel/Evans 1-0 (12*-32) Trump/Baipat

Baipat puts another six on the board but then snookers herself, meaning end of break, and her safety lets in Brecel who should now put his side in front in the frame.

Brecel/Evans 1-0 (0-26) Trump/Baipat

Brecel is warned for twice missing when trying to come off a cushion onto the pack with a red clearly visible. He then smashes into the pack and gets lucky, leaving only a tricky pot which Trump misses.

Brecel/Evans 1-0 (0-18) Trump/Baipat

Evans lets Baipat in when she misses a fairly straight-forward red. Baipat makes 18 before a good safety shot which sees Brecel tap the table.

Brecel/Evans 1-0 Trump/Baipat

Waste of a fluke! With the frame already won, Brecel missed the blue into the middle only to see it drop in the bottom right.

Brecel/Evans 0-0 (54-29) Trump/Baipat

Trump rolls the tricky green along the top cushion but it does not drop in and Brecel will now seal the frame.

Brecel/Evans 0-0 (54-27*) Trump/Baipat

Trump with a great red with right hand side to get on the black. He can bring about a re-spotted black if he can clear up the colours.

Brecel/Evans 0-0 (44*-10) Trump/Baipat

Trump misses a long red and you'd expect Brecel to get over the line now.

Brecel/Evans 0-0 (43-10) Trump/Baipat

It looked like it would be a frame-winning break but he stopped on 42 - so we still await our first half-century today

Brecel/Evans 0-0 (10*-10) Trump/Baipat

Two fantastic pots from Brecel and he could now compile a big break.

Brecel/Evans 0-0 (1-10) Trump/Baipat

A remarkable cannon from Evans garners a point for her duo but no position so the stalemate resumes.

Brecel/Evans 0-0 (0-10) Trump/Baipat

Baipat puts ten on the board before a safety which sees the white just manage to stay in the jaws rather than go into the green pocket.

Brecel/Evans 0-0 (0-0) Trump/Baipat

The opener begins with some good safety play from all four combatants, before Brecel leaves a red in the green pocket jaws.

1855 - First on the baize...

Will be the team of Brecel/Evans against Trump and Baipat.

1845 - We are back underway shortly

It is all to play for after both the afternoon session games finished all-square.

So that's it until the evening session...

And it is as you were with neither of the matches resulting in a victory. We will be back at 1845.

Trump/Baipat 2-2 Selby/Kenna

Baipat pots brown, blue and pink to seal the frame and see the match end as a draw.

Trump/Baipat 1-2 (50-49) Selby/Kenna

Kenna ran out of position a little but she would still have expected to pot the brown and now Baipat could wrap up the frame.

Trump/Baipat 1-2 (50-41) Selby/Kenna

Trump snookers himself from the last red and now has given Kenna a chance to win the frame.

Trump/Baipat 1-2 (44-41) Selby/Kenna

Selby goes in-off leaving Baipat a chance but she rocketed the ball at the bottom right pocket and it bounces out, fortuitously, covered by the black.

Trump/Baipat 1-2 (39-41) Selby/Kenna

Kenna runs out of position after a break of 40 and misses a red to middle, being a little fortunate to not leave an easy pot on. Good sportsmanship from her as she owns up to flicking the pink before hitting the red.

Trump/Baipat 1-2 (33-16*) Selby/Kenna

A missed long red from Trump has let in Kenna with the balls invitingly spread around the table.

Trump/Baipat 1-2 (33-1) Selby/Kenna

An incredible cross-table long pot from Trump leads to a break of 33, but he then misses a red into the middle.

Trump/Baipat 1-2 Selby/Kenna

Selby just fails to make the first half-century break of the afternoon, ending on 46, but more than enough to win the frame.

Trump/Baipat 1-1 (2-67*) Selby/Kenna

A loose shot from Trump let in Selby and he has taken his duo to a two-frame advantage.

Trump/Baipat 1-1 (1-32) Selby/Kenna

Trump pots his side's first ball in 26 minutes - and it was a fluke, missing bottom right by a mile and then bouncing into the left middle.

Trump/Baipat 1-1 (0-32) Selby/Kenna

Selby runs out of position after three reds and colours.

Trump/Baipat 1-1 (0-9*) Selby/Kenna

Two fouls from Turmp as he tries to roll the white against the pack of reds from baulk but falls short. With his third attempt he goes for a difficult pot and leaves a chance on for Selby and he now has a chance to build a break.

Trump/Baipat 1-1 Selby/Kenna

Selby pots a red, then yellow, and that is the end of frame.

Trump/Baipat 1-0 (4-59) Selby/Kenna

Trump leaves the red over the pocket but Kenna pots the white in-off.

Trump/Baipat 1-0 (0-59) Selby/Kenna

End of break just short of the finishing line in the frame.

Trump/Baipat 1-0 (0-46*) Selby/Kenna

Given a second chance, Selby looks set to level the ledger.

Trump/Baipat 1-0 (0-10) Selby/Kenna

The frame now looks like repeating the scrappy nature of those in the first match. The pink is over the bottom left pocket and the reds congregated in front of it.

Trump/Baipat 1-0 (0-1) Selby/Kenna

Both women miss reds along the bottom cushion with consecutive shots and Baipat left hers in the jaw, giving Selby a chance to make a big break.

Trump/Baipat 1-0 Selby/Kenna

As suspected, the 'Joker in the Pack' pots brown, blue and pink to seal the frame.

Trump/Baipat 0-0 (40-27) Selby/Kenna

Kenna misses the brown off the spot and Trump could well clear up from here.

Trump/Baipat 0-0 (33-22) Selby/Kenna

Selby this time misses a regulation black off the spot. A chance for Baipat now.

Trump/Baipat 0-0 (33-9*) Selby/Kenna

Trump couldn't believe it when he left a red in the bottom red pocket jaws. Selby now looking to take advantage.

Trump/Baipat 0-0 (24*-1) Selby/Kenna

Trump is immediately cueing fluently and looks ready to win the frame in this visit.

Trump/Baipat 0-0 (0-1) Selby/Kenna

Kenna puts the first point on the board but then misses a straightforward yellow.

Trump/Baipat and Selby/Kenna up next...

Very much a clash of styles in terms of the men's combatants.

So two points to each side...

The pairs will play different opponents again this evening, then again tomorrow afternoon, hoping to qualify for tomorrow evening's final.

Robertson/Mink 2-2 Brecel/Evans

Robertson at last shows his class. A break of 45 seals the frame and sees the match end a two-all draw.

Robertson/Mink 1-2 (18-7) Brecel/Evans

It has been so scrappy ... Mink misses an easy yellow into the left middle and then Brecel misses a pretty straightforward red into the yellow pocket.

Robertson/Mink 1-2 (5-7) Brecel/Evans

Evans misses the somplest of reds to middle and a chance for Mink to put some points on the board now.

Robertson/Mink 1-2 (5-1) Brecel/Evans

Another fine long pot from Mink, this into the yellow pocket, but she has no position on the black.

Robertson/Mink 1-2 (4-1) Brecel/Evans

A foul is called by the referee on Brecel but the ball shivered the red and after a VAR inspection, four points is taken from the champions' total.

Robertson/Mink 1-2 Brecel/Evans

A break of 47 has the match seen the defending champions half the deficit.

Robertson/Mink 0-2 (57*-8) Brecel/Evans

Mink now has the biggest break of the game and is a couple of pots from winning the frame.

Robertson/Mink 0-2 (20-8) Brecel/Evans

Mink with a fine long pot into the green pocket but she misses again a shot down the bottom rail to end the break.

Robertson/Mink 0-2 (0-8) Brecel/Evans

Brecel gets no luck as he crashes into the pack after a good red opens the frame.

Robertson/Mink 0-2 Brecel/Evans

A break of 26 from Evans (the best in the match so far) puts her side two-up.

Robertson/Mink 0-1 (25-47*) Brecel/Evans

Evans with a chance now to put this scrappy frame to bed.

Robertson/Mink 0-1 (25-43) Brecel/Evans

Robertson for the first time so far gets his hand on the table but only adds to eight to his side's score.

Robertson/Mink 0-1 (17-39) Brecel/Evans

Again just a break in the teens but it builds the duo's lead further.

Robertson/Mink 0-1 (17-26) Brecel/Evans

After a prolonged safety exchange, Mink left a chance for Evans to build a lead.

Robertson/Mink 0-1 (16-25) Brecel/Evans

Mink split the pack again and has left the table invitingly open, but again loses position and has to play safe to baulk.

Robertson/Mink 0-1 (5-17) Brecel/Evans

Mink plays a fine brown to open up the reds but then leaves the next red in the jaws.

Robertson/Mink 0-1 (0-17) Brecel/Evans

Evans with the first points on the board before falling out of position and playing safe off the green.

Robertson/Mink 0-1 Brecel/Evans

Brecel rolled in the pink and then hit a remarkable black which, on the baulk cushion, he hit full in the face, saw it bounce off the right hand of the table, before doubling back into the left middle.

Robertson/Mink 0-0 (52-47) Brecel/Evans

After a period of safety, Brecel potted a fine green, quickly followed by brown and blue. Position from pink to black will be more tricky.

Robertson/Mink 0-0 (52-35) Brecel/Evans

Robertson leaves a difficult snooker which Evans takes two attempts to get out of. The champs now just need green and brown.

Robertson/Mink 0-0 (48-35) Brecel/Evans

I'm not sure I've seen a game where players have snookered themselves after pots - you can't just blame this on the doubles' format. Brecel just did here on the green.

Robertson/Mink 0-0 (48-29) Brecel/Evans

Fantastic snooker from Evans has Mink in trouble.

Robertson/Mink 0-0 (48-25) Brecel/Evans

Mink pots the last red and black but doesn't get position on the yellow.

Robertson/Mink 0-0 (40-25) Brecel/Evans

Evans with a nice pot and cannon, but she leaves the black ball in the jaws and gives Mink the chance to win the frame.

Robertson/Mink 0-0 (40-16) Brecel/Evans

Brecel misses a red into the green-ball pocket, but then Robertson does the same with a simpler one into the bottom right.

Robertson/Mink 0-0 (40-9) Brecel/Evans

Just a break of 20 but some classy shots from Mink to give her side the advantage, but she leaves a pot on for Brecel.

Robertson/Mink 0-0 (20-9) Brecel/Evans

Faced with awkward bridging Robertson left a red in the jaws giving Evans a chance at the table, but she misses her second red.

Robertson/Mink 0-0 (*12-1) Brecel/Evans

Brecel misses a red into the bottom right and now Robertson has a chance to build a score for his duo.

Robertson/Mink 0-0 (7-1) Brecel/Evans

Mink with a nice pot but then has to play safe after sinking the first colour. We have a collection of reds by the bottom left pocket now. Could be a long opener

Robertson/Mink 0-0 (1-1) Brecel/Evans

Another red potted and once more snookered from the colour. This time, Robertson had to play off a cushion to lay a safety off the yellow.

Robertson/Mink 0-0 (0-1) Brecel/Evans

Brecel pots the first ball but snookers himself from the blue he intended to pot so then has to play safe to baulk.

Robertson/Mink 0-0 Brecel/Evans

Robertson breaks off for the world champions.
