Confidence was high for the 23-year old after her silver medal at the recent World Championships in the USA - her first major event since switching allegiance from France to the country of her birth.
Bankes finished third in her semi-final to just miss out on advancing to contest the medals but won the small final to finish fifth overall - moving her to fourth in the overall World Cup standings.
American Lindsey Jacobellis banked her second win of the season to overtake Czech snowboarder and world champion Eva Samkova in the overall standings. Samkova settled for third in Feldberg behind Italy’s Michela Moioli, the world bronze medallist.
