Tsubaki Miki triumphed in the parallel giant slalom at the World Cup round in Slovenia to end a two-year wait for a World Cup win. The 2023 world champion had finished third on four occasions this season, but finally clinched a win over Netherlands' Michelle Dekker. The 20-year-old moves up to second in the parallel giant slalom World Cup standings behind leader Ramona Theresia Hofmeister.

Miki beats Dekker to win parallel giant slalom in Rogla

Japan's Tsubaki Miki clinched her first World Cup victory in two years with a parallel giant slalom win in Rogla.
After four third-placed finishes this season, the 2023 world champion finally clinched the top spot with a win over Michelle Dekker of Netherlands in the final.
Still just 20 years old, the victory puts Miki second in the parallel giant slalom World Cup standings, 14 points behind leader Ramona Theresia Hofmeister, who narrowly missed out on the podium in Slovenia by losing out in the small final to Austria's Sabine Schoeffmann.
Schoeffmann's fellow Austrian Benjamin Karl continued his dominant run in the men's parallel giant slalom with his third World Cup victory in a row.
The three-time Olympic medallist is on flying form this season, leading the overall rankings by almost 100 points and beating Italy's Aaron March to gold by half a second.
Mirko Felicetti beat Italian compatriot Edwin Coratti in the small final for bronze.
