It was another short track gold for Canada's Jordan Pierre-Gilles in Beijing, as the 25-year-old posted a time of 40.666 on Sunday to take his third win of the season and extend his lead at the top of the overall rankings. He claimed a dramatic gold in the 500m the previous day and followed it up with another blistering performance to take control of the overall standings.

After claiming a dramatic gold in the 500m the previous day, Pierre-Gilles posted a time of 40.666 to take his third win of the season and extend his lead at the top of the overall rankings.
Fellow Canadian and three-time Olympic medallist Steven Dubois followed in second whilst China's Sun Long took bronze.
Home favourite Shaoang Liu was back on top in the men's 1000m after crashing out in the 500m a day earlier.
Liu beat Korean rival Ji Won Park by 0.012 seconds to claim gold with Sungoo Jang of Korea rounding out the podium.
Xandra Velzeboer roared to victory in the women's 500m (2) in a time of 42.128 seconds and brought her team-mate Selma Poutsma along for silver.
The duo went on to win gold over Korea in the women's 3000m relay in a time of 4:06.722, while the USA clinched a one-two finish in the women's 1000m as Kristen Santos-Griswold and Corinne Stoddard grabbed the top spots, Li Gong of China taking the bronze.
