The sport's world governing body FINA found Mikhaylo Zubkov, 38, guilty of two separate charges of breaching the code of conduct and bringing the sport into disrepute.
Zubkov and his 18-year-old daughter Kateryna Zubkova flew out of Australia on Monday with the rest of the Ukrainian team.
Zubkov said before the team departed that he would be appealing against the ban.
"While this incident may be resolved to a degree here, it hasn't been completed because FINA hasn't handed down a formal confirmation of the ban," Zubkov said.
"When we get home, we still don't know what we have to contend with but when we have a written summary of charges we will then appeal to CAS against what we see as an over-the-top decision."
Zubkov faced a Melbourne court after he was filmed pushing and shoving his daughter in a marshalling area last Tuesday.
Zubkov's lawyer told the court the incident was a personal and delicate family matter and his client was remorseful. The magistrate dismissed the matter after the swimmer refused to give evidence against her father.
