Faulkner, who won 400m freestyle bronze at last year's Youth Olympics in Singapore, produced a gutsy performance in the 800m freestyle, clocking 8:21.19 as she was just pipped to the touch by Hungary's Evelyn Verraszto.
She was also in the medal mix over 400m, clocking 4:04.13 to claim the last spot on the podium as Australia's Angie Bainbridge took gold and Sweden's Sarah Sjostrom silver.
British team-mate Rebecca Turner finished just outside the medals in fourth but set a 4:10.81 personal best.
Other stand out performances from the nine-strong British team in Stockholm, who all swim for City of Sheffield, was Matthew Johnson fourth place in the 1500m freestyle.
He finished just two hundredths of a second behind the bronze medallist but smashed his personal best when he clocked 15:13.21.
