Reed progressed out of his qualifying group in the men's single with back-to-back 4-0 victories and then beat Petyo Krastev of Bulgaria in a dramatic first preliminary round match.
The 23-year-old battled back from being 2-0 down to level 2-2 and recovered again from falling behind 3-2 to emerge a 4-3 winner in a mammoth seven-game encounter in Paris.
Reed then overcame Romanian Hunor Szocs 4-2 to reach the main draw of the men's singles with success in the doubles also forthcoming with London 2012 Olympian Andrew Baggaley.

Baggaley, already seeded for the singles main draw, and Reed beat Max Poungsri and Padasak Tanviriyavechakul, Alexander Echavarria and Joaquin Villegas and Gaston Alto and Liu Song to progress out of qualifying.
Meanwhile Sam Walker couldn't quite do enough to join Reed, Baggaley and Pitchford, also seeded, in the main draw of the singles as he fell in the final qualifying round.
Karina Le Fevre was beaten in her group in the women's singles however London 2012 Olympian Kelly Sibley joined the seeded Joanna Parker in the main draw.
Sibley will join forces with fellow Olympian Parker in the women's doubles main draw and made it past the mixed doubles first round with Pitchford, who failed in qualification for the men's with Walker.
Pitchford and Sibley beat Jan Zibrat and Manca Fajmut of Slovenia however the duo of Walker and Parker couldn't follow suit as they lost to Brazilian duo Thiago Monteiro and Ligia Silva.
