Andy Murray's Wimbledon hopes dashed after comeback stalls - reports

Andy Murray’s recovery from his hip operation has stalled and his comeback – due to start at a tournament in Loughborough on May 19 – could be delayed, according to reports.
The three-time major winner has had to curtail his time on court over the past couple of weeks as he looks to regain fitness following surgery on his hip in January, which followed his withdrawal from the Australian Open.
Murray, 30, had been targeting a return in the grass court season but he had also hoped to make the university-based Challenger tournament later this month, despite never admitting this publicly.
He remains on the entry list for Queen’s and a spokesman for the Wimbledon warm-up event told the Guardian they had not heard that he plans to pull out.
However, it is understood his participation at Loughborough is now doubtful, as is the first tournament which he has openly committed to – at Rosmalen in the Netherlands on June 11 -– which would put his Wimbledon preparation way behind schedule.
The All England club event, which Murray has won twice, begins on July 2 but the Scot has previously insisted he would not return to court until he is completely fit and ready to play.
