Carlos Alcaraz ready to do 'great results' on grass after impressing again at Queen's ahead of Wimbledon tilt

After some sticky patches in his first match at Queen's, Carlos Alcaraz appears to be getting up to speed quickly on the grass following his impressive win over Jiri Lehecka. Alcaraz lost just five games as he wrapped up his place in the quarter-finals, and afterwards appeared to suggest he has had to amend even his own expectations of what is possible on the surface.
'I think I'm ready' - Alcaraz feeling more confident of a good result on grass
Carlos Alcaraz says his expectations have changed after impressing again at Queen's ahead of his Wimbledon tilt.
In ominous signs for the rest of the tour, Alcaraz appears to be finding his feet quickly on grass - his self-confessed weakest surface - as he now has two wins from two in West London this week after seeing off Jiri Lehecka.
Alcaraz had spoken in earlier media appearances about having low expectations on grass this term - given his lack of experience on the it - but talking after his victory on Thursday, the Spaniard seemed delighted with his quick progress.
“After this match, this level, the expectations change," Alcaraz said. "I think I’m ready to do great results here on grass.
"Playing my first quarter-final here, I'm going to enjoy it. I'm enjoying every single second here, and of course I will go into the next round with a lot of confidence and I will go for it.
"Playing these kind of matches, the level that I played - I'm ok with that.
"I feel really comfortable here on grass so I’m really happy getting experience on grass, getting hours. Knowing that I have this level, I’m really happy about it."

Alcaraz had revealed after his first-round win over Arthur Rinderknech that he was most concerned about his movement on grass, and said he had been taking inspiration from some illustrious performers on the lawn.
That seems to be paying off with some stunning shots during his win over Lehecka.
"I've always said that you have to move well on grass and from there everything else follows," Alcaraz said.
"Speaking for myself, I like to put on videos of [Roger] Federer, of [Andy] Murray, who are among the players that move best on grass. I'm not going to talk about [Novak] Djokovic because he slides like he's on clay and that's not going to be the case for me.
"It's not about how they strike the ball, because everyone has their own style, but seeing how they move, and trying to imitate them."
Wimbledon starts on July 3.
