French Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka completed a comfortable 6-3 6-4 win over Nick Kyrgios at the AEGON Championships at Queen's.
"I was playing good tennis today on the grass court," said Wawrinka, who took only 49 minutes to secure a meeting with South Africa's Kevin Anderson in round two.
"I've had two days of practice on grass, but I'm already moving freely on the court.
"I'm very happy, and I'm still trying to enjoy the moment."
Wawrinka - a semi-finalist at Queen's last year - threw down nine aces and won 93 percent of his first serve points against an Australian opponent who never did himself justice in departing the Wimbledon warm-up tournament in a strangely subdued fashion.
Defending champion Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria was a 4-6 6-3 6-4 winner against American Sam Querrey after bad light stopped play on Monday.
