Pablo Carreno Busta through as Gilles Simon retires hurt

Men’s 10th seed Pablo Carreno Busta was the first player into the third round of the Australian Open after Gilles Simon retired injured in their match on Wednesday.

Carreno Busta was 6-3 3-0 up on the Frenchman, who had strapping on his leg and could not continue.
The match was chiefly memorable for a stunning tweener lob executed by Carreno Busta, who will now face either Gilles Muller or Malek Jaziri in the next round.
