Men’s 10th seed Pablo Carreno Busta was the first player into the third round of the Australian Open after Gilles Simon retired injured in their match on Wednesday.
Carreno Busta was 6-3 3-0 up on the Frenchman, who had strapping on his leg and could not continue.
The match was chiefly memorable for a stunning tweener lob executed by Carreno Busta, who will now face either Gilles Muller or Malek Jaziri in the next round.
