‘Not good at all’ – Djokovic opens up about injury

Eurosport expert Mats Wilander says he is “worried” about Novak Djokovic’s hamstring injury after he received treatment during his win over Enzo Couacaud on Thursday.
There were concerns about Djokovic’s fitness coming into the Australian Open after he cancelled practice sessions and revealed he was not 100% during his Adelaide International 1 victory.
His leg was visibly strapped against Roberto Carballes Baena and Couacaud, with the Serb needing to leave the court in the second set to undergo more treatment on his hamstring, which he says is “not good at all”.
“That is not reassuring because I don’t remember him saying anything like that about his body,” Wilander said. “I really don’t.
“Rafa [Nadal] is obviously always very honest and he gets asked all the time. You never really see Novak injured, and if he is, he’s always very quiet about it. So that’s a worry.
“The good think for Novak, when he’s a little bit injured, he can do so much with a tennis ball these days, he can flatten out the forehand, and for his serve. He served brilliantly.
“As long as he can go through the matches, he’ll find another way of playing tennis that I think very few players can do. Of course, it’s a worry, but tactically he’ll play on one leg if he has to.”

'He's drunk out of his mind' - Djokovic asks the umpire for support

Djokovic had an exchange with the umpire during the final set about a fan who he called “drunk out of his mind” and asked for him to be removed.
The spectator did leave the Rod Laver Arena but Tim Henman feels it “distracted” the nine-time Australian Open champion.
“It was a really important game in the fourth set because he was two love up and needed to hold serve,” said Henman.
“But once he did hold serve, that was at three love in that fourth set and the security were there to take them away.
“You want the atmosphere as a player and you don’t have to have the support, but they weren’t really there to watch he tennis, they were trying to antagonise Djokovic and he’d had enough.”
