Novak Djokovic, Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff are all in Australian Open quarter-final action hoping to seal their places in the last four on Day 10. Djokovic is in action against American No. 1 Taylor Fritz, Sabalenka faces Barbora Krejcikova, while Gauff takes on Marta Kostyuk. Elsewhere, Jannik Sinner plays Andrey Rublev in a battle between the world No. 4 and world No. 5.

Krejcikova v Sabalenka: Defending champion aims to continue superb form

Novak Djokovic and Aryna Sabalenka both continue the defence of their Australian singles titles on an intriguing Day 10, which includes a tantalising quarter-final tie between Jannik Sinner and Andrey Rublev.
Djokovic is looking at his imperious best after following up a dominant display against Tomas Martin Etcheverry with an emphatic straight sets victory over Adrian Mannarino.
He now turns his attention to a quarter-final clash with world No. 12 Taylor Fritz, and can take confidence from having won each of his last 31 encounters against American players, dating back to losing to Sam Querrey at Wimbledon in 2016.
Sabalenka’s next challenge comes in the form of Barbora Krejcikova, who eliminated 16-year-old Mirra Andreeva in the last round.
World No. 2 Sabalenka will be the heavy favourite having progressed to the last eight with ease, most recently dispatching Amanda Anisimova on Sunday.
Elsewhere, there is a mouthwatering match-up between Sinner and Rublev, in a battle between the world No. 4 and world No. 5.
Sinner has looked in fantastic form so far, winning all four of his matches in Melbourne in straight sets.

Top men’s match – Jannik Sinner v Andrey Rublev

Sinner has continued his positive momentum after a fine end to 2023 and has eased into the quarter-finals by winning all four of his Australian Open matches in straight sets.
The 22-year-old powered his way past 2023 Australian Open semi-finalist Karen Khachanov 6-4 7-5 6-3 in the last round.
Meanwhile, this match represents an opportunity for Rublev to lay down a marker and progress past the quarter-finals of a major for the first time.
The Russian has a chastening record of nine defeats in nine Grand Slam quarter-finals, and will be looking to right that wrong after an epic five-set win over Alex de Minaur last time out.

Top women's match - Barbora Krejcikova v Aryna Sabalenka

There appears to be no stopping Aryna Sabalenka in her defence of her Australian Open title, with the world No. 2 only dropping 11 games in her four matches to date.
Sabalenka leads Krejcikova 5-1 in the head-to-head, and most recently prevailed past the Czech player in a round-of-16 clash in Stuttgart last year.
This will be Krejcikova's toughest test to date after beating Mai Hontama, Tamara Korpatsch and Storm Hunter before her fourth-round win over Mirra Andreeva.
The 28-year-old will be aiming for a huge scalp to bring herself back into Grand Slam contention, having won the 2021 French Open.
She showed signs of a revival with victory at the WTA 1000 in Dubai last year, but has struggled for form since then, having recovered from a set down in three of her four matches in Melbourne.

Who else is playing on Day 10 of the 2024 Australian Open?

Coco Gauff will continue her quest for a semi-final place when she faces Marta Kostyuk.
Just like Sabalenka, the American has progressed to the quarter-finals without dropping a set, most recently overcoming Magdalena Frech 6-1 6-2.
The 19-year-old was victorious in the only previous match with the Ukrainian, winning in straight sets in Adelaide two years ago.
There are four British players in action in the mixed doubles quarter-finals as Joe Salisbury and Heather Watson face fellow Brit Neal Skupski and American Desirae Krawczyk.
Alfie Hewett, Gordon Reid and Lucy Shuker play in the first round of the wheelchair singles, while Andy Lapthorne starts his quad wheelchair campaign.
