Britain's Hewett and Reid claim wheelchair doubles title - Australian Open highlights

Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid won their fifth Australian Open wheelchair doubles title in a row with a 6-3 6-2 victory over Takuya Miki and Tokito Oda on the Kia Arena.
The top seeds, who have now won 19 slams together, showed their dominance by beating the unseeded Japanese pair in straight sets.
Miki and Oda had beaten second seeds Joachim Gerard and Stephane Houdet, the Belgian and the Frenchman, in the semi-finals, but they ran out of steam against the defending champions.
The Britons were in their fifth final as a pair in Melbourne after a 6-3 6-3 win over Takashi Sanada and Daisuke Arai in the semi-finals.

Skupski loses in mixed doubles final

Elsewhere, Neal Skupski and his doubles partner Desirae Krawczyk missed out on the mixed doubles title.
The pair, who were seeded second in the draw, lost 7-6(5) 4-6 11-9 on Rod Laver Arena to the third seeds Hsieh Su-wei and Jan Zielinski.
Skupsi and Krawczyk, the British-American duo, couldn’t quite get over the line to win a third title together after their two successes at Wimbledon.
Zielinski said afterwards: "We didn't have anyone to play mixed doubles with. We found each other on the looking list and it worked out pretty well. Maybe we can keep it going."

Lapthorne claims quad wheelchair doubles win

There was some more British delight, however, with Andy Lapthorne winning the quad wheelchair doubles with his American partner David Wagner.
The pair had beaten second seeds Heath Davidson and Robert Shaw in the semi-finals in straight sets, before following that up with a championship tie-break win in the final, beating Donald Ramphadi and Guy Sasson 6-4 3-6 10-2.
