Great Britain completed a 5-0 Davis Cup whitewash over Turkey after wins for Jamie Baker and James Ward in the final singles rubbers of their Europe/Africa Group II play-off match.
Baker beat Tuna Altuna 6-3 6-2 before Ward downed Ergun Zorlu 6-1 6-3 to put a gloss on the comprehensive victory, their first in five Davis Cup matches since beating Croatia in 2007.
Since then Britain have been relegated twice and were battling to preserve third-tier status under new captain Leon Smith.
"It's nice to play again and get another match on a great day like this and to be out here, these things don't happen every day," Scotsman Baker said afterwards.
"Everybody gets along well, we've been up the whole week with great practices, and we've all been behind each other.
"It's a really good group of boys."
Overall victory was sealed on Saturday when a doubles win for Colin Fleming and Ken Skupski gave them an unassailable 3-0 lead.
