Andy Murray is back in the Great Britain Davis Cup squad for the group stage finals in Manchester, which take place on September 12-17.
The former world No. 1 was omitted from the GB squad that claimed a 3-1 win over Colombia in February, as Jack Draper was called up instead.
However, the 36-year-old has now been recalled for the matches against Australia, France and Switzerland.
The three-time Grand Slam champion has fond memories of the Davis Cup after playing a key role in Britain’s 2015 triumph which ended a 79-year wait to win the trophy.
He is joined in the squad by British No. 1 Cameron Norrie, along with Dan Evans and Wimbledon men’s doubles champion Neal Skupski.
Skupski’s inclusion is an intriguing one as he is the only specialist doubles player in the group, but there could still be changes to the original line-up.
Smith can make makes changes to the team up until 24 hours before the first match gets underway.
His side will be aiming to finish in the top two of Group B in order to progress into the knockout stages in Malaga this November.
Smith told the LTA website: “We can’t wait to play Davis Cup in Manchester in front of a huge home crowd.
"It's been a long time since we played in the North West and I'm sure we are going to feel and hear a lot of energy from the fans.
"We have a great team with a lot of Davis Cup experience who will be ready to give it everything in a tough group."
Each tie will include two singles and one doubles match, with the full schedule listed below:
  • Tuesday, September 12: France v Switzerland
  • Wednesday, September 13: Great Britain v Australia
  • Thursday, September 14: Australia v France
  • Friday, September 15: Great Britain v Switzerland
  • Saturday, September 16: Australia v Switzerland
  • Sunday, September 17: Great Britain v France
