Who's qualified for the Davis Cup Finals group stage in September? Will Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray be playing? The 16-team line-up has been confirmed after 12 nations secured their places through qualifying. Italy won the trophy last year, led to victory by Jannik Sinner, who recently won his first Grand Slam at the Australian Open.

The line-up for the 2024 Davis Cup Finals has been set.
There will be 16 nations competing in the finals in September, including 12 who secured their spots through qualifiers this month.
There will also be some big names missing out on the chance to win the trophy this year.
Here’s all you need to know about the Davis Cup Finals.

Who has qualified for the 2024 Davis Cup Finals?

Automatic qualifying spots have been given to defending champions Italy and last year’s runners-up Australia.
Two wild cards have also been given to Great Britain and Spain.
The 12 teams who have qualified are:
  • Belgium
  • Brazil
  • Canada
  • Chile
  • Czech Republic
  • Finland
  • France
  • Germany
  • Netherlands
  • Slovakia
  • United States
Brazil and Slovakia will be playing in the Davis Cup finals for the first time.
Brazil secured a 3-1 win over Sweden while Slovakia shocked a Novak Djokovic-less Serbia 4-0.
Chile reached the finals for the third time after beating Peru 3-2.

Which players will be at the 2024 Davis Cup Finals?

The squads have not been named yet for the Davis Cup Finals, but Australian Open champion Jannik Sinner could be back to try to lead Italy to back-to-back titles.
Sinner played a key role in November as Italy beat Serbia and then Australia to claim their second title.
Great Britain could call on Cameron Norrie, Dan Evans, Andy Murray, Jack Draper and Neal Skupski, while Spain might have Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz available.
Nadal, who has won five Davis Cup titles, hasn’t played for his country since 2019 but might view the finals as a chance to say goodbye in potentially his last season on tour.
Alcaraz pulled out of representing Spain last September after losing in the semi-finals of the US Open.
USA had a strong-looking team as they beat Ukraine 4-0 in a tie played in Lithuania. Taylor Fritz, Sebastian Korda and Christopher Eubanks all won their singles matches, while top-five doubles pairing Austin Krajicek and Rajeev Ram were also victorious.
Alexander Zverev did not play for Germany in their qualifying win over Hungary but could be called up in September.
Australia will likely be led again by Alex de Minaur, with uncertainty over Nick Kyrgios' return from injury and his Davis Cup availability.

Who missed out on the Davis Cup Finals?

The biggest name missing from the finals will be Novak Djokovic.
The world No. 1 did not play for Serbia as they suffered a surprise 4-0 defeat to Slovakia.
Djokovic has previously stated that winning the Davis Cup a second time remains one of his top ambitions, but he will now have to wait until at least 2025 to achieve that.
Djokovic had the chance to put Serbia in the final last year but let slip three match points in defeat to Jannik Sinner.
Serbia will now face a relegation tie in September that would see them drop down a level if they lose.

Croatia also missed out in the finals as they lost 3-1 to Belgium.
Marin Cilic was playing for Croatia but they were without Borna Coric, who instead was playing the Open Sud de France, where he made the final.
Russia are still banned from the competition following the country's invasion of Ukraine.
That means Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev and Karen Khachanov are not permitted to play Davis Cup this year.

When and where are the 2024 Davis Cup Finals?

The 2024 Davis Cup Finals run from September 10-15 in four yet-to-be-named cities.
They start just a few days after the US Open finishes in New York on September 8.
Eight teams will qualify for the quarter-finals of the Davis Cup Finals in November.
