Emma Raducanu: Agent Max Eisenbud hits out at British star's critics - 'People should not be malicious'

Emma Raducanu's agent has called on her critics to "not be malicious". The 21-year-old has suffered with several injuries over the last few years, while also failing to reach the third round of a Grand Slam since her sensational 2021 US Open triumph at Flushing Meadows. As such, people have questioned whether she will ever get back to that level, but Max Eisenbud insists she will win more majors.

Emma Raducanu's agent insists she will add to her incredible 2021 US Open triumph - while hitting out at her critics.
The British tennis star has failed to get past the third round of a Grand Slam tournament since tasting success in Flushing Meadows.
That, in part, is down to an injury-plagued 12 months, with wrist problems ruling her out for much of 2023.
As such, she has dropped out of the top 250 in the world rankings, and critics have mounted over the trajectory of her career.
But her agent Max Eisenbud believes people need to give Raducanu time to get back her best.
"The girl did everything backward," he told Andy Roddick's 'Served' podcast. "She skipped every step!
"She won the US Open, she went to the next tournament, she didn’t even know where the player lounge was, she didn’t know where the practice courts were.
“I don’t think just being tough on her or critical on her like any other player [is wrong]. But she is still figuring it out. I just think that people should not be malicious.”
One area for which Raducanu has attracted criticism is her rotation of coaches.
Andrew Richardson guided her to US Open glory, but the pair parted company shortly after the tournament.
She has also worked with Nigel Sears, Torben Beltz, Dmitry Tursunov and Sebastian Sachs since bursting onto the scene at Wimbledon in 2021.
Ahead of the 2024 season, the 21-year-old hooked up with childhood mentor Nick Cavaday.
Eisenbud admits he would prefer Raducanu to have a settled backroom team, but the decision is not up to him.
He added: “As the agent, do I necessarily agree with it? I don’t. But it seems to work for her.
"And as the agent we can only try to recommend and say, ‘Hey, this one did it this way.’ But they [the family] seem to be very comfortable in the way they are doing it and I have to respect that.
"Maybe that changes and maybe it doesn’t. But she really is a hard worker. And tennis is her priority. Yes, people want to see that she does other things. But the way I see her work and how smart she is, I believe she’ll win more slams.”
