Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from the ATX Open due to tonsillitis. Raducanu has not played on the WTA tour since losing to Coco Gauff in the second round of the Australian Open on January 18. She was due to play in the inaugural WTA 250 tournament in Austin, Texas, but pulled out on Saturday night due to illness. Raducanu is still set to play at Indian Wells and the Miami Open.

'I feel for her' - Gauff says she can 'relate' to Raducanu's tricky career

Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from this week's WTA tournament in Austin, Texas due to tonsillitis.
The British No. 1 has only played four matches this season having turned her ankle in Auckland in January.
The 20-year-old was due to play her first match since her Australian Open second round loss to Coco Gauff at the new competition in Texas, but withdrew before the draw overnight.
"I'm sorry to have to withdraw from the ATX Open," said Raducanu.
"I am currently suffering from tonsillitis and am unable to compete this week. Thank you to the tournament and the great hospitality here in Austin."
According to Raducanu's management, the British No. 1 will stay in Austin then head to Indian Wells in California before the Miami Open.
The 20-year-old, who won the 2021 US Open, missed the cut for direct entry to the women's main draw for Indian Wells after going down to 80th in the WTA rankings, but has been given a wild card entry into the WTA 1000 event.
Raducanu is currently working with her fifth different coach Sebastien Sachs.
Sachs guided Belinda Bencic to Olympic gold at Tokyo 2020 and has previously worked with former world No 1 Victoria Azarenka and Germany's Julia Gorges.
The ATX Open runs from February 27 to March 5. The event, which will be the first tournament held in USA during the WTA's 50th anniversary season, will also feature a 16-team doubles field.
