Switzerland's Roger Federer turned on the style as he beat local hope Gael Monfils to make the last eight of the French Open.
The end of Federer and Monfils's match had been postponed as the light failed on Sunday, with the scores level at one set apiece.
But on the resumption of play the former champion showed his quality, breaking in the opening game of the day and quickly winning the two sets he needed to book his passage into the next round with a 6-3 4-6 6-4 6-1 victory.
Federer will now face compatriot Stan Wawrinka, who also progressed at the expense of a French player as he beat Gilles Simon 6-1 6-4 6-2 on Sunday.
David Ferrer also made the quarter-finals in style, never looking danger as he dispatched Croatia's Marin Cilic 6-2 6-2 6-4.
The Spaniard will face the winner of the fourth round match between third seed Andy Murray and France's Jeremy Chardy.
