Pablo Carreno Busta will face fellow Spaniard Rafael Nadal in the French Open quarter-final after completing a 4-6 7-6 6-7 6-4 8-6 win over fifth seed Milos Raonic in the last 16.
The 20th seed was forced to hit back from losing the first set and third sets to seal his spot in the last eight by winning the final two sets against last year's big-serving Wimbledon finalist Raonic.
Raonic saved six match points before Carreno Busta finally sealed his place in the quarter-final on the seventh as he came to net to convert a winning volley.
In reaching the last eight, it is the Gijon player's best performance at a Grand Slam since he turned professional in 2009.
