Laura Robson pulls out of French Open with wrist injury

Laura Robson will not compete at this year's French Open due to her long-standing wrist injury.
The 21-year-old was expected to make her return on the clay in Paris but has delayed her comeback once more. Robson has not played since the Australian Open in January 2014 having had minor wrist surgery in April 2014.
Despite not playing in over a year, Robson used her protected ranking to gain entry at Roland Garros, which starts on May 24.
But having announced that her wrist has not recovered sufficiently to feature in the French capital, it is believed that the former British number one is exploring the possibility of making her return in one of the grass court tournaments prior to Wimbledon.
The 2008 Wimbledon junior champion reached a career-high ranking of 27 in July 2013 but has seen that plummet due to injuries with both of her wrists.
She no longer has a WTA world ranking but, under the protected ranking ruling - of which hers is 58 - she will be able to enter eight WTA tournaments.
