Great Britain’s Kyle Edmund survived a bump in the road on his French Open campaign on Thursday to beat Marton Fucsovics 6-0 1-6 6-2 6-3.
In a strange match, Edmund bagelled his opponent in the opening set before mustering just a single game in the second.
But he got back on course in the second and third sets, losing just five games combined, to secure his place in the third round.
Again, Edmund is the last Brit standing at Roland Garros after Cameron Norrie suffered a defeat to France's Lucas Pouille, the 15th seed.
The 23-year-old will next take on the ever-mercurial Italian Fabio Fognini as he looks to continue his fine run on the red dirt.
Yes, it will be a very tough match, for sure,” added Edmund. “He plays very well on this surface. He’s had some really good results. He’s beaten Rafael Nadal.
“In terms of the match-up, I’ll speak to my coach about maybe what I need to try and do.
“It’s always sort of the same thing. With me, I try to focus on getting my game out on court first, because that gives me a good chance.
“And then certain tactics or plays you look out for when you’re playing the particular opponent.”
