Novak Djokovic powered into the semi-finals of the Indian Wells Masters with an impressively comfortable 6-3 6-4 victory over David Ferrer on Friday.
Next up for the young Serb will be the winner of the Andy Murray v Tommy Haas quarter-final.
The teenager outclassed his more experience opponent with an array of shots that at times dazzled.
The big serve, the forehand, the backhand, and some delightful drop shots were all brought out to play, and despite the odd sloppy moment, Djokovic always looked in command.
He was particularly scintillating in the opening stages of the match as he quickly went 3-0 and 0-30 up, but Ferrer fought back to finally take the fourth game.
The Spaniard even then managed to then get back on serve, but it was just a stay of execution as Djokovic put his foot on the gas once more and eventually took the set 6-3.
The first four games of the second set went to serve, but then Djokovic broke to love to take charge once more.
He had to survive a scare three games later as Ferrer had two break points, but he came through that challenge and on his next service game he eventually clinched the victory.
