Murray's victory was well deserved, as he exploited an error-riddled performance from Ljubicic to take the win.
Last week in Vienna, Ljubicic didn't drop a single service game on his way to the title, but Murray found a way to break him in the eighth game of the first set which then allowed the Scot to go on and serve for the set.
Murray was hardly playing his best tennis in the early stages of the match, but he did show great composure to clinch the set with crucial big first serve, after two massive Ljubicic backhands had got him back to 40-30 after having been previously three set points down
However, Murray then came out sluggishly at the start of the second-set and lost the first three games which gave Ljubicic a firm grip of the set.
The world number three almost broke Murray for a second time when leading 5-2, before Murray saved three set points, however, the Croat didn't take long to clinch the set, as he won his next service game to 15.
The first few games of the final set went to serve without either player being put under too much strain, but Murray then gradually started to put more and more pressure on Ljubicic, as the Croat continued failing to make any inroads on the Scot's service game.
The key breakthrough finally came in the eight game of the final set, when a wild Ljubicic forehand gave Murray two break points.
The British number one only needed one however, as he fizzed past a bullet of a forehand to win the game and go 5-3 up.
Murray quickly raced into a 40-15 lead in the crucial last game, and while Ljubicic finally cracked home a rare backhand winner, it offered only a mere stay of execution, as Murray clinched the win with an unstoppable ace on the next point.
