Laura Robson loses to Kirsten Flipkens as Brits struggle in Miami

Laura Robson suffered a 7-6 (7-4) 6-2 defeat to Kirsten Flipkens of Belgium in the first round of the Miami Open on Tuesday.

The former British number one Robson is continuing her recovery from a wrist injury.
Robson only returned on March 11 losing to Magdalena Rybarikova in the first round of Indian Wells after being out since August.
US-based fellow Brit Kate Swan - a 16-year-old wildcard who only turned professional after opting against university - lost 6-2 4-6 6-2 to Sam Crawford of the US in qualifying after toiling with a hamstring problem while Naomi Broady was also beaten in the final qualifying round, losing 6-4 6-2 to Aliaksandra Sasnovich of Belarus.
James Ward failed to make the first round proper of the men's event after suffering a 6-3 6-3 defeat to Bjorn Fratangelo in qualifying.
